If you teach or are on staff at a college or another post-secondary setting, you are already aware that more and more students with disabilities are pursuing educational and career opportunities after high school. The National Center for Education Statistics reports that nearly 11 percent or slightly more than 1 out of 10 students on college campuses today have some type of disability.
Because colleges, universities, businesses, and vocational and technical schools are now options for those with disabilities, Ball State is offering a graduate-level certificate—available 100 percent online—to help you acquire the knowledge and skills for developing, implementing, and evaluating a continuum of supports that promote equitable access, participation, and educational and career success for individuals with disabilities.
What It’s Like to Pursue a Graduate Certificate in Disabilities for Post-Secondary Settings with an Emphasis on Autism
Our graduate-level certificate in disabilities for post-secondary settings with an emphasis on autism provides you with practical strategies and application opportunities to support your commitment to helping individuals with disabilities succeed in professional and educational settings.
This 15-credit certificate teaches you to identify disabilities—particularly invisible disabilities such as autism spectrum disorders and learning disabilities.
Often, students with disabilities enter colleges or other post-secondary settings and choose not to disclose their disabilities. Other times, they are unaware of their disability and the accommodations that are available to help them succeed.
Whether you're an educator or a disability professional, or aspire to such careers, this certificate will help you better serve individuals with disabilities.
